The Almond Collection — Stone Houses at 500m Above Kaş, Türkiye
Three stone houses built from local limestone, set 500 metres above Kaş on Turkey's Lycian Coast. The mountain air here runs 5 to 8°C cooler than the coast, carrying the scent of pine from the hillside. The Lycian Way long-distance trail begins at the garden gate. Every booking is handled personally by founder David Richards.
Çukurbağ Stone Residences
Three stone houses built from local limestone, restored with modern comforts. Each property sits within its own lush Mediterranean garden, 10 minutes from Kaş and 20 minutes from Kaputaş Beach.
Residence 1 — Upper Terrace
A three-bedroom stone house on the upper terrace of the Çukurbağ Peninsula, built from pale local limestone quarried on the same hillside. The private infinity pool looks straight out to Kaş harbour and the Greek island of Meis, 18km across the water. Walls half a metre thick hold the day's heat and release it slowly through the night, so the bedrooms stay cool without air conditioning on most evenings. A gate at the bottom of the garden puts you directly onto the Lycian Way. 3 bedrooms, 3 en-suite shower rooms, 180 sqm, max 6 guests. From £142/night.
Residence 2 — Garden Level
A three-bedroom stone house at garden level, set among working almond and olive groves on the Çukurbağ Peninsula. The private infinity pool faces west over terraced slopes, and a shaded stone dining terrace sits under the almond trees at the edge of the orchard. A separate gate opens straight onto the Lycian Way, so you can start a hike without getting in the car. The same local limestone walls keep the interior comfortable day and night. 3 bedrooms, 3 en-suite shower rooms, 180 sqm, max 6 guests. From £142/night.
Residence 3 — Hilltop
A three-bedroom stone house at the highest point on the estate, with a wrap-around pool terrace that looks from Kaş town to the Greek island of Meis. The local limestone walls are thickest here, and the altitude means the evenings turn cool even in July — a light jumper is worth packing for dinner on the terrace. The Lycian Way trail starts a few metres from the villa gate. 3 bedrooms, 3 en-suite shower rooms, 180 sqm, max 6 guests. From £142/night.
Where the Mountain Meets the Sea
The three stone houses sit at 500 metres above sea level on the Çukurbağ Peninsula, 10 minutes from Kaş Marina and 20 minutes from Kaputaş Beach. The altitude means the air runs 5–8°C cooler than the coast below, carrying the scent of pine from the hillside. The Lycian Way long-distance trail starts at the garden gate — the Ancient City of Phellos is a 6.4km round trip from your door.

Frequently Asked Questions
What elevation is the sanctuary?
Our Çukurbağ estate is situated at 500 meters above sea level. All three hillside homes are positioned at this identical mid-elevation level on the Çukurbağ Peninsula near Kaş, Turkey. This elevation creates a distinct mountain microclimate that remains 4–5°C cooler than the sea-level coast.
How many shower rooms are available?
Each residence has 3 private luxury shower rooms (en-suite bathrooms), designed for multi-generational comfort. With three properties in the collection, the estate offers a total of 9 shower rooms across all residences.
What climate control is provided?
All residences are equipped with modern air conditioning units throughout all bedrooms and living areas. Additionally, the thick traditional dry-stone limestone walls provide natural cooling that eliminates the need for mechanical cooling in most conditions, keeping interiors naturally cool even at peak summer temperatures.
